Time is running out to comment on the Draft Phase I Early Restoration Plan and Environmental Assessment for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This draft plan of proposed early restoration projects was made available for public review and comment in December. It describes eight proposed projects, two each in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi, that are intended to benefit injured marshes, coastal dune and nearshore habitats, oysters, and human uses of natural resources. The Natural Resource Damage Assessment trustees collected comments at public meetings throughout the Gulf region in January and February, but it's not too late to make your voice heard. Submit your comments by Feb. 14 at the link below.
